Ca Guard Card

sobrownThe following is the timeline for security guards to complete the 40 hours required training as mandated by the state of California (See reference on the California State BSIS Website).

  • All Security Guards must take the first (8-hour) required course before applying for their Guard Card.
  • All Security Guards must take 8 hours of Mandatory Courses and 8 hours of Elective Courses within the first 30 days of starting work (16 hours).
  • All Security Guards must take and additional 8 hours of Mandatory Courses and 8 hours of Elective Courses within the first six months of work (16 hours).

All training and examinations are administered by our staff at our facility in Valencia, Ca.

BSIS CA State License Numbers: 1285 for Firearms, 1178 for Baton

PHASE I

Before you apply for your Guard Card, you must complete 8 hours of BSIS mandated training consisting of 4 hours of Powers of Arrest and 4 hours of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

PHASE II

After receiving your Guard Card, you are required to complete16 hours of training within 30 days of issuance of registration, 8 of which must consist of two four-hour courses from the mandatory modules and 8 of which must consist of elective courses.

In additional 16 hours of training within 6 months of issuance of registration, 8 of which must consist of the remaining two four hour courses from the mandatory modules, and 8 of which must consist of elective courses.
